A Rotherham-based recruitment consultancy is donating its services free of charge to Grimm & Co, a magical charity opening a workshop in the town centre.Grimm & Co works around the region and aims to unlock imaginations, engage, enthuse and inspire children and young people in the literary arts. It aims to create a fantastical retail destination in Rotherham to inspire children to work without knowing they are working, and increase participation in literacy projects through a creative writing and mentoring centre.Human Recruitment, based in RiDO’s Moorgate Crofts Business Centre, has pledged to support Rotherham charity Grimm and Co, offering their recruitment services free of charge to source a volunteer co-ordinator after the charity benefitted from a boost in funding through the Big Lottery Fund earlier this year.The volunteer co-ordinator role has been developed to give someone the opportunity to become a part of the budding charity, help develop their brand and oversee a range of duties including recruiting new volunteers and sourcing stock, to arranging events and participating in workshop activities.

Since 2013, Human Recruitment has supported some of the largest businesses in the region to find the right candidates to join their workforce, as well as supporting local community initiatives and good causes through sponsorship and fundraising. With a sprinkle of fairy dust and a magical potion or two, the quest to find a valiant volunteer co-ordinator has begun.

Work is continuing at the former Town Gate pub on Doncaster Gate where volunteers have been on hand to help with renovation work that also includes a beanstalk slide and secret doors.

Deborah Bullivant, director at Grimm and Co, said: “Winning the Big Lottery Fund was a great achievement for us. It means we’re able to fund the recruitment of a volunteer co-ordinator and issue specific training for the role. We knew we wanted a respected, trustworthy recruitment agency to help us find the right person, and Human Recruitment fit our brief perfectly.

“Opening the new store is a huge job for us this year and it gives comfort knowing Human are supporting us with the recruitment side of the business. We rely on volunteers to help inspire children to create through writing and literacy and the volunteer co-ordinator role is designed to manage our volunteers and the day to day running of the workshop.
